The tenderloin is a long, oblong shape and because the primal is hardly worked by the animal it is incredibly tender. Arguably the softest steak cut, the tenderloin is also very lean. When you buy the whole primal cut, it affords more value and versatility.
As a suggestion you could roast the tenderloin butt (thicker top end) in the oven, cut eye fillet steaks from the middle of the primal piece, and dice the tail (skinny end) into stir fry strips.
